Full Biography

I am an experienced negotiator, mediator, and litigator who helps individuals resolve personal legal issues. Choosing legal counsel is as important as it is difficult – personal experiences, professional background, and past achievements, while not perfect, are the best indicators of whether an attorney is right for you.   

I practiced for nearly 15 years at one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious law firms, resolving family law matters for everyday people, professional athletes, small business owners, professionals, and business executives.  

I am a practiced and successful problem solver and goal achiever. I earned a full scholarship to Duke University, where I captained the men’s varsity team and played in the 1995 NCAA National Finals. I graduated early with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Anthropology & Anatomy with a certificate in Primatology, then fulfilled my childhood dream of playing professional soccer in Europe, where I played in Belgium’s 1st division. I finished my professional soccer career after seven seasons where I played in the 2000 and 2003 Major League Soccer finals, won the 2000 and 2003 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, won the 2003 Major League Soccer Supporter’s Shield and represented the United States Olympic Men’s Soccer Team winning a bronze medal at the 1999 Pan American Games and 4th place at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. 

I helped lay the foundation for the professionalization of and improved working conditions in MLS as a founding member of the Major League Soccer Players’ Association, elected Team Rep for two MLS teams, and on the Executive Team for the negotiation of the first Collective Bargaining Agreement in MLS history in 2003. I continued to contribute to American soccer as a member of the MLS Disciplinary Committee, a color-commentator on Big Ten Sports Network, an advocate for increased representation of marginalized people in executive and sporting positions, and as a business executive for an MLS club.  

I endeavor to leave things better than I found them, and I know that success is always a collective effort achieved through teamwork, personal dedication, and drive.    

I founded Chicago Mosaic Law LLC to leverage my personal experiences, professional background, dedication, and relentlessness in the pursuit of solving people’s legal problems. My practice is primarily focused on family law, but I understand the interconnected nature of our lives and will address issues as they arise.
